Eric's MLB Power Ratings Ratings
Eric's MLB Power Ratings
2011 Season The rankings are based on three factors:
| RATINGS PHILOSOPHY: |
- Three factors go into these ratings: First and foremost, WINNING or Win-Loss Record (W-L).
- Second, is strength of schedule (SOS), measured by both Win Pct. and Point Ratio (Power).
- Third, is Point Ratio or Power Rating--Scoring the most runs while allowing the fewest runs. Historically, teams that win by larger margins against their opponents. win more games than teams that win by smaller margins.
- System PCT (Sys.Pct.)-A team's overall rating compared to the hypothetical 'average' team (.500).
